This calculator provides an estimate based on the fitment factor entered by the user. It does not represent an official 8th CPC salary calculation. The final 8th CPC pay structure, fitment factor, allowances and other conditions will depend on the recommendations of the 8th Central Pay Commission and the final decision of the Government of India. The 8th CPC DA is not included in the estimated gross salary because the DA rate applicable after implementation of the 8th CPC cannot be known in advance.
How Does the 8th CPC Salary Calculator Work?
The calculator uses your current 7th CPC Basic Pay and the Fitment Factor entered by you to estimate your possible 8th CPC Basic Pay.
Estimated 8th CPC Basic Pay = Current Basic Pay × Fitment Factor
It then adds the applicable HRA, Transport Allowance and Other Allowances to provide an estimated gross salary.
8th CPC DA is not included because the DA rate that may apply after implementation of the 8th CPC cannot be known in advance.
Important Notes
- Estimated Calculation: This calculator provides an estimated 8th CPC salary based on the Current Basic Pay and Fitment Factor entered by the user. It is not an official salary calculation.
- Fitment Factor: The Fitment Factor is not fixed in this calculator. Users can enter any factor according to their own assumption or scenario. The actual Fitment Factor, if any, will depend on the recommendations of the 8th Central Pay Commission and the final decision of the Government.
- Basic Pay: The calculator estimates the new Basic Pay using the formula:
Estimated 8th CPC Basic Pay = Current Basic Pay × Fitment Factor - Pay Level: Pay Level is collected for reference and identification of the employee’s current 7th CPC position. The estimated Basic Pay is calculated using the Basic Pay entered by the user and the selected Fitment Factor.
- DA: Current DA is used only for calculating the employee’s present estimated gross salary. Future 8th CPC DA is not included because the DA rate applicable after implementation of the revised pay structure cannot be known in advance.
- HRA: HRA is estimated using the HRA percentage selected by the user. Actual HRA under the revised pay structure may depend on the final rules and applicable conditions.
- Transport Allowance: Users can select whether TA is applicable and enter their applicable monthly amount.
- Other Allowances: Any other fixed monthly allowance can be entered separately. The calculator carries this amount into the estimated salary for comparison purposes and does not assume any future revision of that allowance.
- Salary Comparison: The calculator compares the current estimated gross salary with the estimated 8th CPC gross salary and shows the approximate increase in rupees and percentage terms.
- Fitment Factor Comparison: The calculator also displays Basic Pay estimates at selected reference Fitment Factors. These values are only for comparison and should not be treated as official 8th CPC pay figures.
- Final 8th CPC Pay Structure: The 8th Central Pay Commission is currently undertaking its work and is expected to make recommendations on pay, allowances, benefits and related matters. The final salary structure will depend on the Commission’s recommendations and the Government’s decision.
- Important: Actual salary may differ from the calculator’s estimate because of the final Fitment Factor, Pay Matrix, DA, HRA, TA, other allowances and other conditions decided for implementation of the 8th CPC.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the 8th CPC Salary Calculator?
The 8th CPC Salary Calculator is an estimation tool that helps Central Government employees calculate their possible salary under the 8th Central Pay Commission using their current Basic Pay and an assumed Fitment Factor.
2. Is the 8th CPC Salary Calculator official?
No. This is an independent estimation calculator. It does not provide an official 8th CPC salary figure.
3. Has the 8th Central Pay Commission been constituted?
Yes. The Government of India constituted the 8th Central Pay Commission in November 2025. The Commission has been given 18 months to submit its report.
4. What Fitment Factor should I enter?
You can enter any Fitment Factor you want to use for your estimation, such as 2.50, 2.57, 2.86, 3.00 or another value.
The calculator does not assume that any particular factor is the official 8th CPC Fitment Factor.
5. How is the estimated 8th CPC Basic Pay calculated?
The calculator uses:
Current Basic Pay × Fitment Factor = Estimated 8th CPC Basic Pay
For example, if your Basic Pay is ₹50,000 and you enter a Fitment Factor of 2.50:
₹50,000 × 2.50 = ₹1,25,000
6. Why can I enter my own Fitment Factor?
Because the final Fitment Factor is not being treated as a fixed value in this calculator. Allowing manual entry lets users test different salary scenarios without waiting for a fixed assumption to be built into the calculator.
7. Does Pay Level affect the calculation?
The calculator asks for Pay Level to identify the employee’s current 7th CPC level. However, the estimated Basic Pay is calculated from the Basic Pay entered by the user × Fitment Factor.
8. Is current DA included in the 8th CPC salary?
No. Current DA is used for estimating the present salary. Future 8th CPC DA is not added to the estimated 8th CPC gross salary because the future DA rate cannot be known in advance.
9. Why is 8th CPC DA not included?
The 8th CPC is still working on its recommendations, and the future revised pay structure and applicable DA cannot be assumed as final. The Commission’s mandate covers pay and allowances, among other matters.
10. Can I calculate HRA under the 8th CPC?
Yes. You can select the applicable HRA percentage in the calculator. The calculator then estimates HRA based on the projected Basic Pay.
11. Can I include Transport Allowance?

12. Can I add other allowances?
Yes. You can enter any other fixed monthly allowance in the Other Allowance field.
13. Does the calculator show my current gross salary?
Yes. The calculator estimates your current gross salary using Basic Pay, current DA, HRA, TA and Other Allowance.
14. Does it show the expected increase in salary?

- Basic Pay increase
- Basic Pay increase percentage
- Gross Salary increase
- Overall salary increase percentage
15. Can I compare different Fitment Factors?
Yes. The calculator provides a comparison of estimated Basic Pay at several reference Fitment Factors. You can also enter your own Fitment Factor for the main calculation.
16. Is a Fitment Factor such as 2.86 or 3.00 officially approved?
The calculator does not treat these values as officially approved Fitment Factors. They are only reference scenarios for estimation and comparison.
17. Will my actual 8th CPC salary be exactly the same as the calculator result?
Not necessarily. The actual salary will depend on the final pay structure, Fitment Factor, Pay Matrix, allowances, DA and other conditions applicable when the revised structure is implemented.
18. Does this calculator include deductions?
No. This calculator primarily estimates Basic Pay and Gross Salary. It does not calculate deductions such as NPS contribution, CGHS, income tax, CGEGIS, loans or other recoveries.
19. Does this calculator calculate the final in-hand salary?
No. The result is an estimated gross salary, not final in-hand salary. Actual take-home pay depends on applicable deductions and recoveries.
20. When will the final 8th CPC salary be known?
The final salary structure will become clear after the 8th Central Pay Commission submits its recommendations and the Government takes the final decision on those recommendations. The Commission has an 18-month period to submit its report.
21. Can the calculator be updated after the 8th CPC recommendations?
Yes. Once the Government officially decides the revised Pay Matrix, Fitment Factor, DA treatment, HRA and other applicable rules, the calculator can be updated to reflect the final structure.
22. Should I use this calculator for financial planning?
You can use it for rough salary estimation and scenario comparison, but you should not treat the result as a guaranteed future salary. The final 8th CPC recommendations and Government decisions will determine the actual benefits.
